Living in perfect communion with the jungle sounds, baroque music, introduced in the Bolivian Chiquitania by the Jesuits around the year 1740, is today an inseparable part of the identity of these people.
That which in the beginning was just a tool to introduce a new God, mutated to give birth to incredible melodies that Chiquitos, Moxos and Guarani musicians where able to modify, giving unimaginable wings to what was already created.
Combining in this documentary film reality and fiction, it was possible to show with sensible perception how this marvellous sound metaphor was generated as a result of combining culture, sensibility and new ways to sense the world which became called missionary baroque.
The Magazine of the Commerce Chamber of Santa cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, published an article about this film (page 62).
